I’m in the planning stage of redesigning my room right now, so I’m looking for the perfect chevron pillow, rug, or chair to go in there. I think I’m going to go with that yellow chevron pillow from my friend Mandie’s Etsy shop. [She's super talented.]

The True Value of A Moment

Oh hai!

A Saturday in July

[Screen shot of the Pioneer Woman's site. Isn't it pretty?]

So it’s Saturday. By now, you’re probably thinking about some little summer cook out or something coming up. Can I say something really quick? It would be a good idea if you made this Grilled Corn Guacamole on PW’s blog. It probably wouldn’t hurt anyone’s feelings. That’s all.

Happy Saturday! xo

P.S. Have you checked out all the cool new stuff on my services page? I’m super excited! If you’re looking to book a shoot, there are some awesome extras that I’ve added! Take a look?

Hannah Braboy Creative

The name has changed! I’ve been thinking about it for a little while now, and I think it’s best. I still do all the same things (keeping the main focus on photography), but the name encompasses everything I do better. It just fits and I love it! You might see some slight changes in the site here pretty soon, but that’s about it. I’m super excited!

There’s something else hidden around here just for you fabulous people! Because I love you and all that. I redid the pricing + services page so that you can have just what you want and that’s it! So spread the word! Book a session. Shout it out to your friends on Facebook. Whatever floats your boat. I want to also throw in there that there will be book one, get one 20% off shoots from now until the 28th. Because like I said, I love you and stuff.

What I Love Wednesday #4

Today, I hand selected a little bit of a variety of things from my Pinterest, including photography, design, interior design, fashion, food, and parties. I pulled them because I think they are just fabulous already, but I really wanted to get my hands on what I was doing here and make note of the detail and what I liked so much about each piece.

I really love the shot below. Usually in a photograph, the eyes have to tell the story.
This shot is different, though, and I like it! The eyes are hidden, so all you have left
to tell the story is the pose and how she is forming her lips. It’s a very artsy shot and
I’m quite liking it!

This Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Grilled Cheese looks just divine! I’m always one to try some new food and this looks like a very nice Italian spin on the original grilled cheese. I’m thinking this could probably be thrown together super quick on a hot summer night.

These clementine place cards are just about one of the most cute, brilliant ideas I’ve seen lately. They would be perfect for a party!

These red TOMS wedges are just perfect for summer! The simplicity and the punch of color is just amazing.

This photo arrangement is something I’d like to do with my iPhone pictures.

This door is something I think is really, really neat. First of all, it’s unlike a typical interior door so it adds interest and that little bit of flavor. Second of all, the bright color makes it stand out and kind of showcases it as a piece of art. I really like that!

Lion + iOS 5 + iCloud – My Thoughts

Lion iOS 5 iCloud

Apple has revolutionized computing, and essentially our daily lives. I highly recommend you at least watch the first several minutes of each product introduction.

Lion

This is the new OS for Macs and it is going to be a beast! It has over 200 new features! I think this is really going to tie all of Apple’s notebooks, desktops, and mobile devices all together. It allows people to work smarter and not harder, too, which I love.

iOS 5

This is the new iOS for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. It includes every feature you would normally have to go back to your Macbook/iMac for, so that you can do it all in-iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. It’s going to refine these bad boys even more, which I didn’t think was possible. It’s going to have some rocking camera and in-app editing features, refine notifications, integrate Twitter, iMessage will be able to text from iOS device to iOS device (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch), and a ton more!  It is going to be awesome!

iCloud

iCloud will store all your content and send it wirelessly to all your devices. Everything happens automatically. No more hassle of syncing all your devices to your Mac just to get a few pictures or your favorite song on all your devices. iCloud is also integrated with your apps, too. I do believe that it’s going to be super easy to use!

In the words of Steve Jobs, “It just works.” It all really does. There’s no guessing, hassle, or a bunch of crap. It’s good quality stuff, made with people like you and me in mind. It’s made by honest people who love what they do. I fully support that.

Do you have any thoughts on Lion, iOS 5, or iCloud?

Disclaimer: This is not a paid advertisement. It’s just my thoughts and honest opinions.

Saturday Thoughts

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot, and that probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you if you’ve known me for very long. What I love to do and my business decisions have been rolling around in my mind like rocks in a rock tumbler. I don’t regret anything, but I sometimes the questions of “What if?” wander around in my mind.

Sometimes I wonder if I jumped into photography too soon or if I’m doing it the wrong way and messing something up. I’m the kind of person who likes to take things by storm, so slowing down and just enjoying right where I am is somewhat of a new thing for me to learn.

Lately I’ve been taking a lot of photos with my iPhone. Last month I backed up a little over 2,000 photos from it to my external hard drive. I love my big Nikon, but some moments I love most can’t be scheduled and they can’t wait. I love the how I can stick my iPhone in my pocket, and thanks to it’s tank-esque Otterbox case, it can go with me everywhere. I’m trying not to feel guilty because I use it some too.

So I’m still figuring out what I love. I’m trying not to jump ahead of myself.

The 21st Century Guide to Business Conduct

Never use texting lingo such as LOL or OMG. It doesn’t matter if the rest of the people you are working with uses them. Rise above, people.

Dress professionally. If you are sitting behind your desk at home, feel free to wear whatever floats your boat. However, if anyone business related is going to even merely do a Skype video call with you, dress professionally. You don’t have to have a lot of money or clothes to look nice, either.

Know what you are talking about. I don’t care who you are talking to and what their rank is, but you need to know what you are talking about. If the person you are talking to brings up something that you don’t know much about, tell them and refer them to someone who does know.

Know what you are doing. If you don’t know, don’t pretend to. See above.

Don’t use extra letters. If you are talking to your friends, this is fine. Otherwise, spell properly.

Work like a professional. Just do it. (If you don’t know how, train under a professional and then go do it.)

Don’t make excuses and just get it done.

Work smarter and not harder.

Have confidence.

5th Anniversary

Today is my 5th blog anniversary! It’s hard for me to believe that 5 years ago I started this whole thingamajig. It’s been awesome, y’all. Thank you for such a great time! I wouldn’t be able to do this without you. Seriously. I love y’all.

If there’s something that you’ve been kind of nervous and hesitant about doing, just do it. You’ll never know if you love it or not until you try. If you end up really liking it, stick with it! If it’s not much your thing, at least you tried!

You all are so stinkin’ fabulous. xoxo
