These pictures are proof that the best camera is always the one you have with you. In this case, it was my iPhone. It’s not the greatest quality- kinda fuzzy. It’s the memories that count, though. It’s one of the top reasons I am a photographer. When my future children look back on these pictures, they won’t notice the quality saying “Man! That’s a really cruddy picture!”
So, that being said… These are the pictures from this summer- Braboy Summer 2010. I’m so thankful.
Napping babes. Pink little cheeks. Light summer blankets. Creamy sheets. Cool pillows.
Ice cold cranberry lemonade. Frosted Mason jars.
My sister Alli and I making blueberry pancakes for lunch. The hot sizzle of the griddle. The muscle woman you have to be to lift the heavy thing.
Listening to Meredith Andrews in the dark. The babies eyes that close shut as soon as we cross the Tennessee-Kentucky line. The soft orange glow of the Tundra’s stereo system.
Goofing off in Old Navy.
Flag shirts bought just hours before a party with our friends. (Hi R’s! Hi C‘s!) Fireworks. Mudding on ATV’s with our friends. Muddy, sweaty children. The soft smell of hay in the barn. The sound of all the ATV’s starting.
Vegetable chip-eating children.
Tractor pulls with friends that may as well be family. Smoke in the air. Hot dogs. Squirmy little children. [Yes, cotton candy kind of took charge there at the end.]
That’s part 1 because, yes, I just needed to publish the draft already. [Raise your hand if you are the queen/king of drafts!]
Over and out.

You always make me want to come out and play.
Come on over!
that cranberry lemonade looks perfect for the hot day we had today!
sweet sleepy cheeks. there is just something so *sigh* about sleeping little ones. and it makes you scratch your head a bit to compare the sleeping ones to their waking selves.
drafts? what? me? i’m sure i only have 20 in draft… some that have been there for well over a year. why won’t i just delete them?
Yes, we do scratch our heads at the comparison between their little sleeping selves and their waking selves. O.o Haha!
I don’t actually have as many drafts as I used to. I deleted a bunch that you kinda wonder “What in the world was *that* about? Why did I even write that?”
Such great snapshots of this summer. I haven’t been very good about sharing all of the events this summer. I’m thinking I might just do a summer recap too. I don’t really do a lot of drafts and so when it feels like it’s “too late” to post about something I just end up skipping it. Maybe I need to get better at putting things in drafts as they happen! Thanks for the inspiration. Love you all.
I just capture with whatever camera I have and write what inspires me. For me, I have to process things and moments before I write about them. I’ve got capture the moments in my mind and heart, too. I’ve got to feel what there is to feel, hear every little sound, see everything around me with my eyes and heart, smell every sweet breath of fresh air, and taste the food made by the ones I love most. After I take that all in, it translates to my heart and soul and stays there forever. From there, they are drafts written and never to be forgotten. Sometimes recaps are best.
Your space here reflects your grace….
Beautiful!
All’s grace,
Ann
((hugs)) Thank you Ann, but I don’t feel very graceful sometimes. I just feel like an ordinary girl with a messy heart in need of Jesus.
Beautiful here, Hannah. Beautiful, soft gray.
Summer looks perfect.
Thank you! I have to give credit to you for teaching me how to do it, though.
It’s nowhere near done. See that mismatched blue stripe up top? Yeah. The no-longer-current blog ad graphics? Mm-hmm. I also want to make the body smaller and expose more gray. (I really love the gray! Need to incorporate it more.) I need to make a batch of pretty graphics to spice things up. I still need to work on converting it from blog to blog and website, too. Have any ideas or tips?
Love the top picture of the boys sleeping even if it is a little fuzzy! Your right its all about the memories and I think that bit of fuzziness just adds a dreamy quality to the picture, perfect!
Thank you! I’m quite partial to the rambunctious little boys.
WHOA, did Don cut off his hair!?
Yep!
