I want to be a photographer. How do I get started?

Want to be a photographer, but don’t know how or where to start? You’re not alone. I’ve been asked that question many times! Here are some pointers:

1. Do your research.
2. Buy a “big girl camera” (a dSLR).
3. Get a pile of books and reading your camera’s manual.
4. Experiment
5. {Possibly} apprentice under someone.
